Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)

Phoenix, AZ — On-site 24-hour residential facility

About the role

As a Behavioral Health Technician, you provide behavioral health support to residents in our 24-hour residential facility. You’re a key part of each resident’s treatment team — carrying out the treatment plan, keeping the home safe and secure, documenting progress, and providing the compassionate, day-to-day support that helps recovery take root.

Reports to: Administrator / Assistant Administrator / Supervisor / Nurse

What you’ll do

Serve as part of the resident’s treatment team
Make necessary referrals and serve as a liaison with other agencies
Provide timely documentation to support services rendered
Build a support network around each resident by working with authorized collateral sources
Provide clinical supportive interventions according to the treatment plan
Ensure residents’ attendance at medication evaluations and appointments
Monitor and report the activities of residents
Ensure the security of the facility and the safety of the residents
Document emergency situations and notify appropriate staff
Complete daily progress notes documenting progress toward treatment-plan goals
Report to incoming staff at the end of each shift
Transport residents to and from appointments when indicated
Monitor residents’ self-administration of medications
Maintain appropriate resident/staff boundaries

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, and at least 21 years of age
Knowledge of basic crisis intervention and de-escalation methods
Current CPR/First Aid training
Able to obtain a fingerprint clearance card
TB skin test (completed before starting)
Valid driver’s license or state identification card

Experience in behavioral health or direct care is a plus — but compassion, reliability, and sound judgment matter most.
